Summit Rocks Sunset

Last Saturday I spent the night in the eastern part of the wilderness of rocks.  A storm had just rolled off the Santa Catalinas and was rumbling through Tucson as I hiked my way towards a campsite and, hopefully, a place I could take a photograph.  I’d stopped on the way to take an image with the 4×5, and I simply got to where I wanted to camp too late to set up the 4×5 for the sunset.  Fortunately, I brought along my little Canon G9 just in case I needed something really quick.  The colors were changing fairly fast, so I scrambled up a small hill, climbed up a small pile of boulders, and setup the camera as the colors were fading.

  1. That is a beautiful sky Laurent!

I would love to experience the summer thunderstorms in Arizona one day, but it is a tough time of year to leave Alaska.
