Blooming Ironwood

Blooming Ironwood

I found this Ironwood tree along a corridor of hills I knew would get a shaft of sunlight at evenings end.  What I didn’t know was that the Ironwoods would be blooming right now. I was searching for that elusive saguaro composition.  Flowers are starting to bud on the saguaros, but the flowers themselves are still a couple of weeks out yet, though some are starting to bloom.  The ironwood are just amazing, however.  This one is in Tucson Mountain Park and there are quite a few blooming.  For some reason, I’ve always missed the bloom time of this tree.
