Sunset, Santa Catalinas

The Santa Catalinas rise 6500 feet above the desert floor.  So what happens in monsoon season in the mountains?  Spectacular light!  My friend Scott and I got stuck in our cars for about 15 minutes while a torrential monsoon dropped buckets on us.  After the rain, we hiked up to a saddle where we were planning on camping with another friend, Stefan, who was visiting from back east with his girlfriend.  After the thunder and lightning subsided, we had a great and relaxing night.

You are reading a blog posting from the photographer Laurent Baig. Feel the wilderness experience.
